fairfax
fairfax bathroom.
The Fairfax bathroom remodel reimagines an existing bathroom to feel larger without adding square footage. The walls are finished in a custom-colored clay plaster which passively moderates excess moisture levels by absorbing and releasing humidity introduced when showering or bathing. All of the switches, outlets, and light fixtures are inset with trimless flanges that could be plastered over. We recessed the baseboards to sit flush to the plaster walls with a reglet reveal and painted the supply air vents to match the plaster to be as unobtrusive as possible. Design decisions included bringing in more natural light, carrying the wood floors from the bedroom and utilizing a hallway to make space for both the custom tiled shower enclosure and freestanding tub.
